Hi there, I’m Melissa.
Welcome to my little corner in the world wide web. I’m so glad you’re here.
I am a mother to 2 beautiful children. Life has been so different, busy and chaotic since becoming a parent.
Motherhood is a gift and a blessing but it hasn’t been easy. The transition into motherhood is not always straightforward. Let’s be honest, all if not most of us are still winging it, no matter how long you’ve been a mum. Hand on heart, motherhood is hard.
Before becoming a mum, I was naive to believe that life would be business as usual, just with a baby in tow. But this couldn’t be further from the truth. My life literally revolved around my children’s meals, naps and bedtime.
I gave up a successful corporate career to lean into family life. While it was my personal choice, the shift into mum life was a major identity crisis and shock to my system, coupled with the mental load and sleep deprivation – I spiraled into postpartum depression.
5 years later with my eldest in school and youngest in childcare, I started to wonder and question what I want to do with my life now. And this led me to creating this blog to share my journey. Motherhood can sometimes be isolating and lonely. I want fellow mums to know that they’re not alone in their struggles and that they matter too.
As mums, we always prioritise our family’s needs and happiness above ourselves, along the way, we forget about “us”. We lost our sparks and mojo. We forget what lights us up. Motherhood changed us. It’s okay that you’re looking for something more than just being a mum, and you’re still figuring out. Wherever you are in your journey and season, your feelings are valid.
This is not a parenting blog. But it’s my intention and purpose to dedicate this space to you – the mother, a space for you to rediscover and reconnect with yourself again. Because again mama, you matter too.
It’s my pleasure to invite you and join me on this journey to finding joy, happiness and fulfilment as you navigate your season of motherhood.
